Verydarkman calls out Dangote....Dangote Cement Re-trains Hundreds of Truck Drivers to Boost operational efficiency

…expresses commitment to absolute safer roads policy

Management of Dangote Cement Plc (DCP) has expressed its irrevocable commitment to training and constant retraining of its truck drivers to promote operational efficiency and safe driving across Nigeria.

Speaking during its 2025 Annual Drivers’ Retreat themed, Dangote Cement’s Group Managing Director, Arvind Pathak emphasised that as a leading cement manufacturer with thousands of trucks in its fleet, safety on the road remains the company’s core mandate. He said the essence of the yearly training is to remind the drivers of the core values of the brand and ensure that they are all committed to the Absolute Safer Road Policy of the Group.

The training exercise for the drivers in DCP Ibese Plant took place in Ilaro area of Ogun State, with over 900 drivers in attendance. Another extensive re-training exercise for more drivers has been scheduled to take place in Obajana, Kogi State next week.

The Dangote Cement boss reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to road safety, transparency, appropriate ethical conduct, and provision of detailed clarity on the comprehensive systems and procedures to mitigate against any incident along roads across the country.

Mr. Pathak said Dangote was a responsible organisation that consistently cooperates with the Nigeria Police and other relevant authorities in the investigation of reported incidents with support of all lawful processes, aimed at establishing the facts and routinely implement recommendations that strengthen public safety.

He explained that that every driver employed by Dangote Cement is required to undergo an extensive and rigorously structured recruitment process that includes Valid Driver’s license class G, background verification of both the driver and their guarantors, comprehensive medical evaluation, including vision screening (eye test), blood pressure checks, body mass index (BMI), random blood sugar (RBS) test as well as drug and alcohol testing.

“Other recruitment screening covers usage within a three-month detection window, ensuring identifying any history of substance use before employment, completion of a two-week intensive training programme, which consists of twelve safety modules, practical driving assessments, and written examinations”, the Cement GMD stated.

According to him, “In the past two months alone, over 2,000 prospective drivers have successfully completed this process. Only those who meet all required standards were engaged and certified to operate any Dangote Group vehicles. Our commitment to safety extends beyond recruitment. All drivers undergo mandatory pre-trip medical assessments, conducted by licensed nurses and doctors.

“These include regular checks on blood pressure, vision, and overall fitness, ensuring drivers are physically and mentally fit to operate safely. To enforce compliance with our zero-tolerance policy on substance use, random drug tests are conducted routinely across our operations.”

Mr. Pathak stated that Dangote Cement would continue to collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other regulatory agencies to ensure that all training, compliance, and operational processes are not only standardised but also continuously improved, adding that these authorities are also actively involved in monitoring and evaluation of their safety practices.

He maintained that Dangote Cement remains fully committed to strengthening driver onboarding and training, enforcing strict safety and behavioural standards, applying punitive measures to curb errant driving, collaborating with government agencies, regulators, and communities to improve road safety, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compassion in everything they do.

Also addressing the assembled drivers, the Group Chief, Health Safety Social and Environment Officer & Sustainability function, Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), Dr. James Adenuga stressed the importance of safety protocols and noted that the process was not just to train the drivers on the consequences but to continuously remind them of essentials of safety guides.

Adenuga further stated that the regular training was to educate them in the language they understand and teach them how the training matters to them. He gave insights on the measures put in place to ensure the right individuals are recruited as drivers, saying some of the qualifications for recruiting the drivers included minimum of secondary school certificate, ability to speak English language with writing and reading skills, free of substance abuse, 2-5 years driving experience, possession of Class-G drivers’ license, guarantors and rigorous training among other measures.

“We also partner Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to train and prepare them for professional driving so as to equip and give them the basics and fundamentals to prevent them for reckless driving. We equally have a process to give recognition and award to those that profess conduct and good behaved drivers among their peers,” he added.

Taking the drivers through some requirements for safe driving, a Road Safety Expert, Mr. Oje Ebhota explained that the choice of the topic for his paper centred on safety driving habits for accident-free journeys.

Mr. Ebhota listed acts such as aggressiveness, impatient driving, use of phone while driving, taking alcoholic drink and disobedience to traffic signs, as negatives against the tenet of safe driving.

He advised the assembled drivers to be conscious of dangerous overtaking and to drive within the driving limit of 60km per hour so that they do not veer off the road and cause accidents that could affect negatively other road users.

According to him, “let me tell you all, drivers are the ambassadors of Dangote Group. Aside being ambassadors, you are also stakeholders that should be careful and consider other road users as important while on the road.”

Falana to EFCC: Return recovered N32.7bn, $445,000 loot to NSIPA

Sylvester Oromoni: ‘It’s curious coroner ignored evidences’ — Falana faults ruling

Falana

Senior Advocate of Nigeria and human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to transfer the sum of N32.7 billion and $445,000—recovered from officials of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development—to the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) for proper use.

Falana made the call in a public statement issued on August 24, 2025, under the banner of the Alliance on Surviving Covid-19 and Beyond (ASCAB), which he chairs.

He recalled that in January 2025, President Bola Tinubu approved N32.7 billion for the implementation of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), which includes school feeding, N-Power, conditional cash transfers, and small business support under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).

He noted that while the EFCC had earlier recovered the exact sum of N32.7 billion and an additional $445,000 from allegedly corrupt officials within the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry, the funds are yet to be redirected to the NSIPA—despite the EFCC’s stated policy of ensuring that recovered funds are returned for their intended purposes.

“We commend the EFCC and urge it to intensify efforts to recover the outstanding N20 billion still unaccounted for. But more importantly, the recovered N32.7 billion and $445,000 should be transferred to the National Social Investment Programme Agency to help alleviate the hardship faced by over 133 million multi-dimensionally poor Nigerians,” Falana stated.

He also called on all tiers of government—federal, state, and local—to scale up their contributions to the NSIP in light of the significant rise in government revenues.

According to him, the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) shared N2.001 trillion in July 2025 from a gross total of N3.836 trillion, and N1.8 trillion in June 2025. He urged that these increased revenues be reflected in enhanced social investment rather than mere tokenism.

“Governments must go beyond lip service and invest meaningfully in social protection programmes. They must put their money where their mouth is,” he concluded.

Falana’s remarks come amid widespread calls for transparency and accountability in the management of Nigeria’s social welfare schemes, especially following high-profile corruption cases linked to funds meant for the poor.

AS SOON AS ZION TRAVAIL. PST VICTOR KING

 *Father SPEAK TO US TONIGHT'S*

Tonight I want us to know that There are conceived God given dreams, vision and ideas that we have been carrying and this is the season that the Lord wants us to bring them forth into reality.

Every pregnant woman has to travail to bring forth the child that she has been carrying in her womb,

even us as children of God this is the time and season for us to travail in prayer and give birth to our God given dreams, visions and ideas.

According to our *scripture reading:*

Isaiah 66:8 – 9 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children. Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the LORD. “ Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.

The bible says that as soon as Zion travailed she brought forth her children.

Sir/ma, Zion had to travail to bring forth and in verse 9 God asks “shall I bring into delivery and not cause to deliver?”

*God says I am the one who made you to conceive those dreams, visions and ideas and now this is your time to bring them forth into reality,

*God says this is your time of delivery and I will cause you to deliver but it’s up to you to travail in order to bring forth*.

God is able to make you deliver but you have to take your responsibility and travail in prayer so that you can bring forth.

I want us to know that God promises but man prays those promises into fulfillment.

I hear the Lord say that this is the time and season for that prophetic word that was spoken over your life to become a reality but you have to travail in prayer. It’s your responsibility to pray and not God.

God has already spoken concerning this generation we are the ones that God has chosen to use to birth revival, healing and restoration in our various nations, God says that He is ready to do it but it’s our responsibility to pray.

Child of God it’s time to pray!!! Remember “What the church needs today is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use – Men of prayer, Men mighty in prayer.

The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men.

Men of prayer. Meditate on this James 5:16 The earnest prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available.

*NOTE*

1. Prayer is a spiritual exercise that can impacts our families, communities and also has far reaching effect in heaven and hell.

2. Every man on earth is born with a glorious destiny but not all end up gloriously. This is because there are oppositions in our journey and only those who overcome gets the prize(1 Cor 16:9).

3. Life itself is an adventure in battles. There is a price to pay before we can wear our crowns. Among other things it is the price of travailing in prayer.

4. Man cannot prevail unless he travails. Just like a woman in labour has to push to bring forth her joy, you also have to continually push (pray until something happens) to birth your destiny(Luke 18:1).

5. The best prayer teacher is the exercise of prayer itself. You can never learn prayer until you pray. Jesus prayed, Paul prayed, Elijah prayed and they all ended with glorious testimonies.

6. Scripture said “Men ought always to pray and not to faint “. *Hell is not moved by our plans as much as it is moved by our prayers*

_If we pray through, our plans will come through._

*If we pray through, His light (revelation) will shine through* . _If we travail in prayer, we will prevail in life._

*in conclusion tonight*

Miracles only happens for those who travail in prayer and believe for a miracle. Pray Until Something Happen. Never let go, never give up. When you pray don’t just simply pray, pray a prayer that moves God’s hand. Wrestle with God in prayer!

The struggles we go through, as we walk with God, is for a purpose and a reason. He moulds our live according to every events that’s happened in our live, bringing us into maturity physically and also spiritually.

If there is a situation in your life that you are not happy with it, you’ve got the power to change that situation.

– Maybe you are struggling to meet your commitments, maybe your finances requires a touch, maybe your health is failing, maybe things are generally not going well with you. As long as you are on the Lord’s side (Exodus 32:26) you’ve got that power.

– The bible in Jeremiah 1:19 says and they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you.

– Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases (Luke 9:1).

– You and I have also got the power, the power to trample over serpents and scorpions, the power to decree a thing and heaven establishing such things, the power to ask and to receive.

The bible (2 Corinthians 4: 7) says we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

– How can you activate this authority? How can you change situations that have been oppressing you over the years? Through wrestling!

*WHAT YOU DONT WANT YOU DONT WATCH*

It is time to be awaked

It is time to Pray

It is time to travail

It is time to bring forth!!!!!!!

*Sirs/ma's*

So it is when you conceive a dream or vision in your heart, it grows inside of you. There may be many painful struggles and many nights of travailing in prayer but when the time is right, nothing can stop your bringing forth.

Giving birth to something can come with deep travail. There may be tears during the night, but joy comes in the morning. Don’t be in a hurry. A pregnancy that is not carried to full term will result in premature delivery and if not carefully managed can result in the death of the child. There is always a period of incubation.. such that happens within you. A time when you are in God’s quarry site being worked upon and prepared for your glorious manifestation.

Take a moment and reflect on your life. Are you truly prepared for what God is set to do in and through you?

Perhaps, there are things to be corrected in your life. Maybe you need to allow the pruning hands of God to come upon you. For a plant to enjoy maximum yield, it would require Pruning.

If you desire to be productive, you will need to prune out some areas of your life you do not need. *If you wish to remain relevant to your generation, you must consistently cut off every negative act, attitude or behavior.*

*Please Pray as the spirit leads you tonight*

Words of White lion King

Zacharias thought it incredible that he and his wife, at their old age, could conceive a child. But what God promises, He delivers. And God delivers on time! *Luke. 1:20* You can have complete confidence that God will keep His promises. Their fulfilment may not be the next day, but they will be "in their own time." If you are waiting for God to answer some requests or to fill in some need, remain patient.

Listen, no matter how impossible God's promises may seem, what He has said in His Word will come true at the right time. Trust and obey! Have a fulfilled day.
