Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for stronger and collective efforts to safeguard education and protect schools nationwide, describing it as fundamental to securing the country’s future.
In a message commemorating the 2025 International Day to Protect Education from Attack, Senator Tinubu, a former teacher said the theme, “Challenging Narratives, Reshaping Action,” is a call to move beyond rhetoric and take bold, decisive steps to ensure the safety of learners, teachers, and institutions.
She stressed that “education must never be compromised,” warning that any society that fails to protect its schools risks undermining its own future.
The First Lady commended organisations such as UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Education Above All Foundation for their work in promoting child education globally.
While acknowledging the contributions of Nigeria’s security agencies, she urged them to intensify efforts in protecting schools across the country.
